Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

It is a placid temperament and he spends hours waving, you’ve probably seen your dog play.

Playful behaviors are a vital necessity, they allow puppies to adjust against each other, they learn to initiate and stop the games, communicate with other dogs, to assimilate the social codes of their species and control the strength of their jaws. As adults, they are released and they are so full of energy, time spent waiting for the return of the master, continue to learn new behaviors, are experimenting with unusual learning.

Hierarchy

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

In reviewing the various means of communication for dogs, it is clear that their main topic of conversation revolves around the question: who dominates whom? “. This issue is so fundamental that it will influence the majority of interactions, not only between a dog and its congeners, but also between a dog and his master.

The question of dominance is well known to most dog owners know that if they want to enforce obedience to their animal, they must exercise some authority over him.

Unfortunately, this concept is often misunderstood and confused with the balance of power, aggression.

Result: either the masters cry constantly after their dog, or worse, the strike to force him to obey, or, unwilling to have this kind of relationship with their four-legged friend, they simply decide to abdicate, and so what if it does as its head. (more…)

Early education at the School of Puppies

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

She is in kindergarten children. Through early education focused on the game, all the puppies learn to integrate into human society and their masters exerted to understand and direct them. Concepts that are revolutionizing the teaching totally dog it is no longer the man who forces the animal to get to his level, it is he who goes at it. The school aims to raise the puppy, to open the mind, teaching him to bear the stress he encounters in his life in the midst of humans to correctly answer a few simple commands and have fun with his master.

Imagine a child who would go to class at the age of 18 or 20 years, having never learned to read or write … That is exactly what happens with dogs that refused to accept the Education clubs, the vast majority at the age of 1 year or rarely 6 months. I created this concept which is now based in several countries. The role of Dog Training Clubs under the control of the Canine Central Company is to give the puppy a start in life and correct information to the master, in order to understand and navigate. We know that over 99% of dogs are devoted to the role of pet dogs adapted to the city. (more…)

Advocacy for the education of teachers

Based on genetic testing, all dogs descended from wolves. When one observes the behavior of wolves and codes to which they respond and they are compared to those of dogs, we can only be convinced of that. The dogs respond to all codes of behavior similar to those of wolves.

So if you know the rules of the society of wolves, one is able to behave clear to the dog and it will be comfortable with us if we respect those rules. It is for us humans to learn social rules and not dogs to them to learn ours, too complex for their intelligence.

The wolf lives in society, the pack. This company is not governed precise rules and standards. Some wolves may live alone, for various reasons (excluded from the pack for bad behavior, widowed or for personal reasons!), But they never lose contact (distance) with the pack through signs and markers as feces, urine, food scraps, the screams … (more…)

Social and Behavioral Development of Puppies

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

In this chapter, I will touch briefly on the development of puppies from birth. “Briefly,” because many authors have devoted entire chapters, and it would not be fair nor useful to copy their work.

Impregnation

During the first 12 weeks of his life, the puppy will live the soak phase also called double imprint.

It is divided into two overlapping periods:

1 / intraspecific footprint (approximately the first 5 weeks): the dog impregnates his fellows, he learns the codes of behavior specific to its own species. Indeed, at birth, the puppy does not have an innate understanding of the social codes of its kind. He must learn to behave as a dog, with specific uses in communication and behavior specific to canines.

2 / footprint inter-specific (or non-specific) also known as phase imprinting to man, the dog learns that there are other species than their own (human and others), discovering sounds, objects, an entire environment. This phase begins around age three to four weeks, and even before, according to the authors. (more…)

Understanding your dog is to know its language, and how he sees ours.

It’s also about development, training, and the real needs of the owner.

The information, knowledge of the dog, so avoid many disappointments.

THE OWNER

Conflicting conceptions.

Communication: Language of the Dog

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Understand is essential in a relationship between dog and man, as to establish a mutual understanding. So the dog does not become too amorphous, or otherwise disruptive or aggressive as adults, we must educate from an early age.

The dog communicates through facial expressions or sounds attitudes.

These signs are easy to identify, match its own language and have a specific meaning:

THE TAIL

When it stirs happy tail, your dog is happy, excited or just a particular context. By cons if the low moves, just the tip, and has a dejected, that he feels bad, emotionally or physically (you make jealous stroking another dog for example!). The bitch in heat has a special touch when it raises its tail motionless, indicating that it agrees to enter! (more…)

THE RIGHT AGE FOR THE EDUCATION OF DOG

A spirited puppy just arrived home. Ravi, you let him climb into your bed, sit next to you on the couch, jumping on visitors.

A few months later, the friendly puppy has turned into a large dog who takes his ease in the house and scare your guests. Regretting your past generosity, you try to rectify the situation by imposing prohibitions for your pet, with great difficulty.

About 80% of dropouts are related to embarrassing behavior (barking, dirty, aggression, stress, fear, destruction, running away, hyperactivity, mood swings …) that dog owners have failed to suppress, and that they have for the most part, insiders themselves. These troublesome behaviors could be prevented through education. But it is recognized that education of the dog is essential to its integration into our society and our environment, many homeowners are wondering what is the best age to start. (more…)

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR ACTION?

Sometimes we have let a situation escalate without intervention, and at some point, we can no longer take any more. Or more simply, it can be to learn a new command to her adult dog.

DIFFERENT BUSINESS ethological needs DOG

The scope that we offer our dogs seems not always correspond to its different ethological needs of business. Taking into account certain factors are sometimes overlooked, which makes the dog’s inappropriate physical activity.

Physical activity (locomotor) is combined with another type of life activity for the dog, I shall call “mental activity” unclear and sometimes in opposition to human practices is often wrongly just solicited.

Firstly the need for physical activity the dog will come through the particular profile. Although within the same race differences may appear athletic, membership in a group gives us an indication of its strengths and weaknesses. His age and his physical condition will allow the owner to define a progression and refine the type of activity they propose. And duration and frequency of work will be related to its true potential.

Border Collies can travel tens of kilometers since it works on a flock, the English Bulldog does not have the same predisposition, activity will be adjusted according to its particular morphotype in this case. (more…)
