The Campbell Test

Developed by the American ethologist Campbell 25 years ago, these tests remain the best way to choose a puppy based on what is expected of him and his future role within the home. They can be charged by the breeder, for a selection, or the future owner.

3 types of behavior were defined: Aggressive, submissive and independent.

The test consists of 5 exercises, achievable in a short time and easy to interpret. It can acquire solid information about the basic character of the puppy.

Choice of a Dog

The decision to adopt a dog must be carefully considered since it will hire 10 to 15 years of life. Do we really want a dog? Are we ready to give it a normal dog life? It seems imperative to review not only the good sides but also the problems that a dog can cause, in fact every coin has two sides.

While it is ideal for walking his dog on a beautiful spring day in the middle of the concert of birds, it will also go for a walk at night in winter pouring rain.

Will there be enough time to devote to it if we think of walking several times a day, brushing, preparing food …? Almost a third of the dropouts are justified by the fact that the dog requires more care than expected (Patronek et al., 1996). (more…)

Super Dog

What is a dog? The answer may seem so obvious that you did not really ask the question … It is indeed an animal … But beware! Not any! An animal that is neither more nor less dubbed “the best friend of man.”

While for many of us the word “dog” refers to the image of a companion “faithful and devoted” we can “have fun” or we “love” in all circumstances, then maybe we should we simply ask what it is.

Who among us has never dreamed of his “best friend”?

The dog of our dreams is always present with us and able to adapt to everything: relocation, vacation, city or country without fear or fear or too much excitement. (more…)
